Canadian Folk Awards Nominee Showcase

As part of the 6th annual Canadian Folk Music Awards, the West End Cultural Centre is proud to present the official nominee showcase with a selection of performances from the 19-nomination categories. Slated for the evening prior to the awards, the showcase will feature a cross-Canada selection of artists exemplifying the breath, variety, and Canadian talent exhibited in the folk genre.

Showcase performers include:

1. Karrnnel & Koulack (from Saskatchewan and Manitoba; nominated for Instrumental group and Pushing the Boundaries)

2. Brenda MacIntyre (from Toronto; nominated for Aboriginal Songwriter) - website

3. Beyond the Pale (from Toronto; nominated in four categories for best instrumental group, world group, and ensemble as well as the "pushing the boundaries" prize for innovation.) - website
