Bring the whole family and join us for the 11th Annual Ellice Street Festival! Featuring local entertainment, food, art, community information tables, and activities for young and old! There are a ton of fun activities planned including; live music, face painting, magic, clowns, carnival games, bouncy houses, a giant chess board, street hockey and more! A community barbeque will be held with hotdogs and drinks costing only $0.25!

Check out performances on Friday night by Keri Latimer (frontwoman of Nathan) and her special guests and Saturday afternoon performances by Pip Skid, Deuxième Take, Jazz On Wheels and more TBA. Bring a white t-shirt and do some tie-dye with the Graffiti Gallery, make some art with Art City or learn to bead with the Ma Mawi Wi Chi Itata Centre.

The Ellice Street Festival is a highlight of the spring for local residents, fostering relationships and building community between residents and the various community groups operating in the West Central neighbourhood. The afternoon is one of celebration, fun and sharing, and creates an opportunity to present a more positive community image while also providing a forum for local talent.

The 2010 Ellice Street Festival is sponsored by the West End Cultural Centre, Canadian Heritage: “Building Communities through Arts and Culture Program”, Spence Neighbourhood Association “Small Grants Fund”, Assiniboine Credit Union, Andrew Swan, Rob Altemeyer and Harvey Smith.

The West End Cultural Centre would also like to thank the planning committee which includes representatives from Spence Neighbourhood Association, the West Central Women’s Resource Centre, CKUW, UWSA, the West End Biz, the offices of Andrew Swan, Rob Altemeyer and Harvey Smith, as well as, all of the organizations that provide much needed volunteers at the festival each year.
