The West End Cultural Centre is pleased to partner with Frontera Wines and the Sons & Daughters of Italy to present An Evening of Italian Arias on Saturday, March 27.
The evening will support education and outreach programing at Manitoba Opera and feature the stunning voices of soprano Jayne Hammond and tenor Justin Odwak, both accompanied by pianist Lisa Rumpel. Along with the spectacular performances, a fine Italian dinner is available for delivery by X-Cues with wine-pairings provided by Frontera Wines.
Jayne Hammond
Praised for her “clear soprano voice,” (Winnipeg Free Press) Jayne Hammond is an active member of the performing arts community both on- and off- stage. Jayne has appeared as a soloist with the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, Pacific Opera Victoria, the Victoria Symphony, Manitoba Underground Opera, the Gilbert & Sullivan Society of Winnipeg, and Living Room Live.
Justin Odwak
An in demand choral conductor, vocal instructor, and tenor, Justin has performed as soloist with local organizations such as the Winnipeg Singers, Canzona, Camerata Nova, the Winnipeg Philharmonic Choir, and Little Opera Company and has appeared as soloist with the University of Manitoba singers for Soundstreams at Toronto's Koerner Hall along with the Latvian Radio Choir.
Lisa Rumpel
Praised for her "fierce artistry” and “poetic” pianism, Winnipeg-based collaborative pianist and coach Lisa Rumpel is an active member of Manitoba’s artistic scene. Since completing her Master of Music (Collaborative Piano) at the University of Manitoba in 2015 under the tutelage of Dr. Laura Loewen and Dr. Judy Kehler-Siebert, Lisa has built her reputation as a coach and pianist for musicians of all experience levels.
